Measures to enter Thailand for Thais and non-Thai nationals

Pre-Arrival

1. Travellers are advised to avoid risk areas or crowded places at least 14 days before travelling.

2. Travellers must travel from countries or territories approved by the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) and must have been in those countries or territories for no less than 21 days before their travel date - except Thai nationals and foreign expatriates returning from overseas. Travellers must register their travel plans via the designated system or website and have the following documents:

2.1.1 Certificate of Entry (COE).

2.1.2 A medical certificate with a laboratory test (using an RT-PRC method) carrying a negative result not exceeding 72 hours before the travel date.

2.1.3 Copy of an insurance policy in English covering healthcare and treatment expenses for COVID-19 per applicant for the whole duration in Thailand with the minimum of USD $100,000 in coverage.

2.1.4 Copy of the payment confirmation for no less than 14 nights stay and RT-PCR tests at SHA Plus hotels approved by Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports, or the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

2.1.5 For less than a 14-day stay, travellers must present a confirmed flight ticket out of Phuket on top of the payment confirmation for accommodation and RT-PCR tests at hotels covering their intended duration of stay.

2.1.6 A certificate of a COVID-19 vaccination with vaccines approved by Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) or the World Health Organisation (WHO) no less than 14 days before the travel date.

2.1.7 Travellers under 18 years of age, travelling with their parents or guardians, must have a medical certificate with a negative laboratory result using an RT-PRC method no more than 72 hours before the travel date.

3. Travellers must undergo exit screening before departure.

 

Arrival

1. Entry screening and Immigration and Customs procedures:

- Travellers on direct international flights to Phuket are subject to health screening and Immigration procedures at the point of entry.

- Travellers on non-direct international flights with a connecting domestic flight to Phuket are subject to health screening and Immigration procedures twice; at the point of entry and at Phuket.

2. Download and install the Mor Chana and Thailand Plus applications on a mobile phone, and set it on alert at all times for the whole duration of the stay in Thailand 

3. Proceed directly to the reserved hotel on the certified airport transfer service.

4. Take COVID-19 tests (RT-PCR method) at own expenses: 

- Taking the first test upon arrival and await the test results in the hotel room.

- On Day 6 or 7 for those who are staying less than 7 days. 

- On Day 6 or 7 for the second test and on Day 12 or 13 for the third test for those staying between 10-14 days.

- In the case of a positive test, travellers will be referred to the specified healthcare facilities for medical treatment, the expenses of which must be covered by the required insurance.

5. If testing negative for COVID-19, travellers can move freely in Phuket under the island’s health and safety rules and regulations.

6. Travellers with an intended length of stay less than 14 days must leave Phuket immediately on an international flight to another country on or before their intended departure date. 

7. Travellers who have completed 14 nights in Phuket will be allowed to continue their journey to other destinations in Thailand.

 

International / Domestic Departures

1. For travelling from Phuket to other countries, travellers are advised to make sure that they meet the requirements of their specific international destination. Thailand is not responsible or able to assist on this matter. 

2. For travelling from Phuket to other destinations in Thailand, travellers are required to show proof that they have completed a 14-night stay at the designated accommodation along with other required documentation required by the guidelines and measures announced by the respective destinations.
