Wat Saket is an ancient temple built during the Ayutthaya period. Located in Pom Prap Sattru Phai District, the magnificent temple is famous for the giant golden pagoda that can be seen even from far away, earning it the nickname Golden Mountain temple (or Phu Khao Thong in Thai). Every year during the Loi Krathong Festival, the temple holds a local fair and a ceremony to pay respect to the Lord Buddhas’ relics enshrined in the golden pagoda.
