Wat Pho is one of the largest and oldest temples in Bangkok. Located next to the Royal Palace, the temple enshrines the third largest reclining Buddha image in Thailand of about 46 metres long. Wat Pho also has the greatest number of pagodas in Thailand with more than 99 pagodas. Another highlight of the temple is the marble inscriptions about medical, historical, and liberal science placed all around the temple, thus allowing people to read and learn at any time, and earning the temple the title of Thailand’s first public university.
